The Eagle

The Bald Eagle (Kitpu/Gitpoo) is one of the most important and sacred animals for Mi’kmaq people, and many other Indigenous nations in North America. The Eagle symbolizes the messenger who carries our prayers to the Creator, because they fly highest in the sky.
